http://purl.com/net/conflict#Melee_Weapon
A melee weapon is one that operates as a physical extension of the user's body and does not involve a projectile. Taken from the French word for 'mixed' (referring to groups of fighters in close combat) a melee weapon is in contact with both the user and the target when it is in use. Examples include edged weapons such as knives, axes, swords and thrusting spears, as well as blunt weapons, such as clubs, maces and mauls.
